Never had luck with Silver in the past, other than small perch.
Hooked one perch minute I put the hook in the water, so luck appeared to change.
Fish were jumping out of the water like popcorn, but I'd seen that in the past and had nary a bite.
Finally hooked into a nice 13 inch brown and brought him in. Didn't fight much, but nice looking fish.
Got a couple more 12 inch rainbows who fought a little, but not much. Then, finally, the pole really bent and the reel whined. Ten minutes later I dip my net into the water and discover a HUGE perch. Never seen one that big.
Let em all go for someone else to enjoy.
Only thing that worked was the ol' reliable pink wedding band with power bait.
Not a crowded lake all in all, but there are a bunch of groups of outrigger clubs paddling Hawaii Five-O Style across the lake who are a bit on the rude side.
Would like to try the tips on bass some time when the docks are less busy.
