We launched as Shilshole around 11am and headed across to Kingston area.
About 5 min's out of the harbor were several pods of Killer Whales, stretching
across the sound. We killed the motor and watched these magnificent creatures for
a bit and then headed to Apple Tree Cove. The fishing started out slow, current running
hard, tangling my two lines off the downriggers. But things settled down and about 3pm
the blackmouth bite started picking up. We only got one that was borderline 22" and released
several smaller ones, but scrappy for their size. We also saw quite a few fish jumping, must have
been chums. Good day overall.
