Went out to pier 86 around 5:30 pm to do some squid jigging. I wasn't suppose to go fishing on weekdays but after 1 hour I finally convinced my mom. When I arrived at the pier, the weather was so darn windy and cold. It almost felt like it was going to snow. There were about 15 people jigging and to my surprise, there were hella squid milling around the lighted pier. I tossed my jig in the water right away and hooked several dozen squid within 30 minutes. The squid fishing slowed down for about an hour. There were still many hardcore fishermen on the dock, including me, that kept on jigging even though the wind was blowing at like 50 mph. Well, all that patient and effort finally paid off when another school of squid came through and everyone caught another quarter bucket full of squid. I left around 8:30 with about 4 or 5 pounds of squid. Not a bad night!!
