Fished the low morning tide at several spots, mainly focused on Rich's Passage and the artificial reef at Blake Island. The target was ling cod, the bait was jigs with curly worms. We caught a few non-descript fish, not much action. Ended the day with a 20" ling at the reef. Back it went. Returned to the boat launch to find a 39 1/2" ling carcass in the water. The lucky angler caught it in Elliot Bay off the boat launch area. Used live bait, a sand dab? Is this a flounder? Anyway, I was jealous and thinking I really need to re-think my fishing techniques!
