My mom is visiting from Wisconsin. As she is getting older the O-Dark Hundred start times just don't cut it. So we got a civil start at 9am from Shilshole. Dropped two crab pots and went over to West Point. Within 10 minutes it was "Fish On!". 45 feet on the rigger, fast troll (2.7-2.9 mph). Caught on a cripple herring (blue-green) and small red flasher. A nice resident silver. As it was coming to the net - "fish on!" - a double! Second fish turned out to be a 15 king caught at 65 ft on the rigger, using a wh/gr glow spoon and same red flasher. Thinking it could be a hot morning with the tide change to come at 11:30 (low tide), I settled in for the inevitable limit. At 10:30 we hit another resident silver, 75 ft on the rigger, wh/gr spoon w red flasher. And that was it. Stopped at noon, crab pots - nada, just girls and undersized males. A nice trip despite the choppy water and no limits. I could get used to this sleep in fishery... nah!
