Arrived at Edmonds Pier to do some blackmouth fishing. The weather was very nice. The skies were clear and the water was calm. There were about 10 people on the pier when I got there. Most people were fishing for perch and a few were going for salmon. Started fishing around 9:30 AM with my secret lure. After an hour of boring fishing, I switched to a red rubber worm and tried fishing for bottom fish. Casted by the rocks and hooked a powerful cabezon. Landed it after 3 minutes or so. I immediately released the fish unharmed. The fish appeared to be about 15 pounds. Later some dude down the end of the pier hooked up with a blackmouth and landed it 5 minutes later. The fish was about 7 or 8 lbs. One hour later 2 guys had a fish on at the same time! I assumed there was a big school swimming by and those two guys got lucky. The funny thing was that none of them landed their fish due to the lack of experience. (No offense) About 40 minutes later, I was astonished to see another dude hooked up with a blackmouth again. The fishing was pumped! Unfortunately he didn't land the fish either. Overall there was 4 fish hooked and only 1 was landed. I went home at 12:00 PM skunked. I might go again tomorrow if the weather permits. Oh yeah, there were also quite a few perch being caught. Most people got there 10 fish daily limit. Edmonds Pier is definitely worth a try this time of the year. Tight lines :)
