Got out for a bit of mid-day fishing. Launched at Shilshole around 9:00 and dunked the crab pots. Heard folks were doing well at Point No Point, and the water was flat, so off I went!
Tried jigging for a bit at the point. Big current and I was flying, though I could hit bottom with a 2 oz jig on 20# Proline. Caught about an 18" shaker, but was out into deep water in 5 to 10 minutes each drift.
Switched to trolling going West towards Skunk Bay. Used a green Hot Spot and a 4" Coyote. Put it in the dirt and off we go. Got a good hit just about 11:00 and managed to put a long, skinny 6# blackmouth into the boat. Not as chubby as the shakers we were catching in the fall, but a nice fish. It hit just about when I thought my ball would be dragging on a hump.
Blasted back to the crab pots to find 4 keepers, about 5 just sub-legal and 30 to 40 females, some of which were huge. A nice trip!
