Started at 6:30 in front of Edmonds oil dock. no fish headed to Kingston at 9, no fish, headed to Jeff head at 10:30. My dad let out (using squid/herring w/ 8 oz sinker) and on his 30th pull, something slammed it. turned out to be 20+ lb king (hatchery) darn, in the water he goes. head back to Edmonds. whole time, water is absolutely choppier than all get out, but nothing- not even the wind is going to ruin my labor day fishing trip. Start fishing this time right in front of the fishing pier, great drift. One pole had 3 oz sinker with cut plug (due to drift it was only down maybe 10 ft) and the other had 8 oz squid herring setup down around 40 feet. after maybe 5 minutes my herring pole did a dance. picked it up had a nice silver on... darn! hook came out at the boat. while I am pissing and moaning about losing that one, my little brother is shouting "FISH FISH on deep pole!!" I turned around and sure enough the pole is going crazy. pick it up, and the fight is on. At first it acted like a king, I got it up to the boat, and it went straight down. got it up after 15+ minutes, beautiful 10 pound hooknose silver (wild). Caught it at 11:30. Went in at 2:30 after losing 3 more at the boat (AARGH, those silvers are crazy!!)
