Arrived Salsbury County Park Saturday morning before dawn. Got in my waders and tied on about 3' of 10 lb Seagard tippet to the end of my tapered Bone Fish leader. On the end of that I tied on a Clouser that was mostly white with a little red. I waded in up to my knees at first light. Wasn't long when I had a distinct grab. I was so shocked that I missed it all together. Back to the cast, fast strip, wait, wait, wait, strip, wait, wait, wait routine with renewed enthusiasm. The silvers came calling again, and I was able to release 3 by 8am. Sunday morning was same spot, same technique, same fly. Landed and kept 1 hatchery hen about 4 lbs. I think all the bait tossers were a little perplexed as to why is it fly fishing worked so well while the silvers ignored their bait.
