My buddy Pat and I basically drifted from the Mukilteo Launch to the Shipwreck, and got 7 pinks for basically no effort.

We were in my little boat, a 12 foot/10 HP dwarf. The depthfinder was on the fritz, we had no downriggers. Our only depth control was using the levelwind mechanism and figuring line slope to get approximate depths.

Basically with a 3 or 4 ounce weight, a #0 flasher, and a pink hootchy on steelhead rods we could do no wrong until around 10 am, when we lost the fish.

Basically, if you are a newbie to salmon fishing like me, just go out to the Humpy Hollow, and catch a few fish, it doesn't take much. I had planned to cross over and try to fish the shoreline around the Bait Box and Possession Point, but we never made it, the fishing was so good.
