Glen, Cami, and I went on an Easter Kokanee hunt at American Lake. Glen was sporting his new Mad Hatter look. It was cold.
We met at the launch at 6:30am. Started fishing out of the WDFW launch about 7am. Trolling toward the vet hospital around the island and spent most of the morning trolling northeast to southwest turning before the island.

The water temp was 49 and the weather report was to get to 65 but it probably just hit 50 while we were there. There were hazy clouds and a cold breeze.

Glen got the biggest kokanee at 16.5 inches. He used a Bahama Mama sling blade dodger with a Wannafish A Lure Mini Pink Squiddy Thang. I got the smallest but it was my first for the year. I was using a Half Fast Gold Arrow flash and a minimal flash hook with treble trailer that I tied up last year. Glen got another kokanee on a prototype lure I made up and he got a smaller kokanee on the same rig he got the big one. We both hooked trout as there were many in the water. Glen side of the boat had a double, one time. He got that one in but I lost his other one.

Glen was 17 feet on the downrigger with a long line out and I stacked, trying to stay about 23 for the bottom because I had long release clips.

We left around 11am to go have Easter celebrations with family.

I wonder if I would have hooked more w/o cameras. See movie.

tmanh2o I tie them to be about 12 inches from bottom hook to top of leader oop. I am not ocd so it might be 11 or 13.
cobra543 one camera has decals the new one doesn't. It might be one reason some hang back. I know there is a lot of interest. I am going to put decals on the new camera. Maybe what I should do it make it the attractor with lots of flash

I believe the schools were trout and kokanee. I look at the tails of the fish to see a difference. I believe they were just sharing the same space.
I hope everyone who sees these videos can learn fish behavior from them.

Hi Toni. Great video, as usual. I have a WaterWolf and haven't used it yet. Were you using any weight? What was the distance from the camera to the lure? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

No weight. I have about 10-12 inches from camera to dodger. Suggestion; go do it!
