This was my first time fishing at Lawrence Lake. I took my good friend (Mike) out and started trolling around 7:45. We began with our normal gear (Pop Gear flashers, 1/4 oz weight, wedding ring with night crawler). We had three great hits in the first two hours, but couldn't set the hook on any. We also ran into problems with the vegetation. This lake is "much" shallower than any other that we have fished. So with the recommendations of the locals, we removed the pop-gear flasher system and only used the wedding wing/nightcrawler with 1/8" weight. This made all of the difference. We landed 5 fish in the next hour or so. Three of the rainbows were good/decent size, but the other two were small. Oh, almost forgot, there were fish jumping everywhere (small to huge Jumbos).
