First time ice fishing ever. Don't have an ice auger so was hoping to find a few holes that I could use or maybe asking someone to use an auger. Being my first time wasn't to sure about investing in one myself just yet. Luckily found a few that were barely frozen over. Fished from 830 to noon with no bites or fish. Never seen anyone else pull out any fish either. Used Swedish pimples and worms just off the bottom. Even though I had no luck it was quite the experience being able to walk out on ice and fish. Next time I will be prepeared with my own auger and depending on ice thickness venture away from the crowds. Probably won't happen this year as by the time I go back to the other side of the mountains it will be in the spring

Good for you! Too easy to stick with what we've always done, branching out a little once in a while ups your chances of finding something new and fun!

The same occurred on several lakes in the area. 2 fish all day at Soda, for about 20+ anglers. Ice fishing is usually much better.
