First day back at Lake Boren and the ice had finally melted enough to fish the majority of the lake even though a lost a set up by casting to far into the ice which was close to where I was catching fish.
Got to the dock about 1:45 and had two Cutts by 2:30. Both were normal sized fish, about 11" long and pretty thin. I caught one more slighty bigger at 3:30 pm. Again, most of my strikes were while reeling slowly after sitting 10 minutes, but only hooked one this route.
Worm with a Mike Baits Marshmellow, both green and white. Leaders 28"-36" long. I also used a scent for the majority of the day and felt it worked well.
I am glad that the iced finally broke because did niot have a strike the past two try's at Coulon Park after catching two last Saturday.
One note to pass on about Coulon.....the far North fishing pier will not see any more bottom fishing from me anymore due to snags while reeling in semi slow. Seems like a bobber or a bass fishing spot to me.
