This is an overall update report for October 19th to the present time. I haven’t posted in a while, but I have been out catching fish on Coeurdalene Lake.
On Oct. 19th I took a day off from work, and got out with a friend for a mid week trip. We had a great day putting 29 pike in the boat between the two of us. Fish were caught on glide baits, frogs and spoons and were very aggressive. Ya gotta love days like that. Biggest fish that day was 14 pounds, and we had several over the nine pound mark.
On Oct. 23rd I got out with the Packernut and we had another great day. I managed to release11 pike and the nut had a great day as well. Once again the glide baits and spoons did the trick.
On October 29th the Packernut and I started the day fishing with Lonnie from Get Bit Outdoors. Lonnie had to head home around noon with 3 nice pike, the nut and I fished the rest of the day in a steady rain, to catch 5 pike each. Glide baits, spoons and spinner baits worked best. No big ones. Just a decent day overall production wise.
October 5th I fished with Lonnie from Get Bit Outdoors again. It was a bit of a slow day and we caught and released 4 pike with the largest weighing in at 10 ½ pounds.
On November 8th I has a temporary layoff from work so I got out by myself. It’s kind of hard to find someone to fish with on a Tuesday. I had a good day. Started catching fish right away and finished with a total of 6 pike. A couple of fat 31”ers, one that weighed 8 ½ pounds, and the other at 9 1/2 made for a nice day.
November 11th was an overall slow day. The Packernut and I only mustered up a total of three pike. However, he released his personal best of 15 pounds to make for a memorable trip.
November 19th was another great trip with the Packernut. I caught 13 pike on the day with my top 4 fish weighing a combined total of 44 pounds. A great day with several other fish between 5 ½ and 7 ½ pounds.
November 27th the Packernut and I put a total of 11 pike in the boat. No big ones this trip just some nice fat fall fish.
Yesterday, December 3rd, we had a slow day but only fished for about 5 hours. We started with a fish right away then it took the rest of the trip to get to a total or 5 pike. The best two came at the end of the day when we caught a couple of nice fat 30”ers about one minute apart. My fish came in the boat as he said “I got one to”. Kind of a slow day but a great way to end it.
Sorry for the late reports. I’ve just been busy catching fish, and having a great last two months on the water.
