Decided to try Lake Stevens for some Kokanee. Started fishing at 7:00am and finished at 9:45am. God blessed with a limit. Used Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoons with white shoepeg corn, krill super sauce, and Arrow Flash dodgers. The Orange top and the 50/50 Gold patterns combined for 9 of the fish and last fish caught on a Green top. The photos show the set up. I was using a 10" leader measured from trailing hook to the dodger.

The fish were caught between 15' to 25' deep. Water temp was 55 degrees. I don't have a speed gauge so I can only guess I was trolling about 1.5mph. Wishing all tight lines!

That first fish looks pretty worn out! The 5 after look ok and the last 4 look very decent. Do you mind me asking how the meat were on these

Hi riverhunter,
Hope you are doing well and nice to hear from you! So, looks are deceiving.
The skin on the first fish changed color when put in the ice chest more than the others. The meat on all these range from very good to excellent. The meat is red and texture is excellent. The only difference is when the fish start to color (become darker), there is just slightly less flavor but still very good. I hooked onto a fire truck red one and fortunately it got off near the boat. I would not eat them when they turn red. Hope this helps.

How long is your leader from the Arrow Flash dodger to the spoon?

Ben,
For spring, I recommend 16-18" leader from dodger swivel to trailing hook.
