Armed with information gleaned from Glen and Cami who caught on their vacation Thursday and Friday, I started fishing about 8:30am. It was sunny and the high was supposed to be 68. And it got there. The water was 56-57 degrees and there was an algae bloom.

I was told 20 feet on the wire, 1.7 and above for speed at the very northwest part of the lake.
I started trolling just north of Silcox Island. I was going past the houses east of the north launch when I saw the first school on the finder. Turned the boat and went back to see if they would bite but there wasn’t anything. Consequently, I kept going toward the north end of the lake.

I saw some more bait balls…schools, but no bites. Going through some more schools on the fish finder I decided to drop the line with the camera down and see what they were. Later that is, the camera isn’t real time. They were kokanee.
About 10am I finally got one on. I was going 1.83 according to the gps. I hauled that vampire over the side. Looked at the other rod and there was one on it. I hauled it over the side too. Well I only had two bites after that. I left at 12:30.
They were caught on Dick Nite dodgers Pink Splatter and 50/50 with Wannafish A Llure’s Mini Squiddy Thang Pink with a hammered gold blade and the Gilded Lily.

Excellent! The way the fish come up and nose the lure and follow I wonder if putting a short leader behind the lure and baiting it with a single maggot or kernel of corn might entice more strikes?

What kind of camera do you use? Your videos are really cool it seems like you can learn a ton about kokanee this way.
