10/22/2016 8:34:00 AMI used to make the run to Pyramid Lake outside in Reno every year and those Lahontan sure do get BIG! Looks like a GREAT trip and I think Lahontan's are beautiful! From rose colored sides to almost slate gray coloring too!

10/22/2016 9:33:00 AMHow is the taste on those Lahontan's ? I have read the water is somewhat alkaline and give them a slight off taste, Can you get around that by just smoking them? We have always talked about fishing there, but that hasn't happened yet. Years ago Sprague lake was stocked with the Lahontan, they were Big and great eating. I believe that was late 70's, what a great time we had catching them through the ice. During that time Sprague lake even got mention from Field & Stream as to the great Lahontan trout to be cought there.
