Moved from Whitestone lake spinyray fishing because of the wind.
I have not been to this lake in over 10 years.
There was a group having a picnic where I fished before with such good catching.
Ended up going to the southwest shoreline. Big weed patch right out in front but deep water 20' out.
Was going to fish 2 rods. Rigged up the Ultra light first. Slip sinker 4' 4# leader and 2 pink Gulp eggs.
Casted beyond the weed line and fed it line so it would drop straight down.
It didn't even make it to the bottom and I had a fish.
It was like Bass fishing, pole high in the air and reel as fast as possible to keep the trout from getting stuck in the weeds.
20 minutes later I had my limit. All 11-14" but very pretty fish with pink flesh.
This is the reason I started spinyray fishing.
Too easy to limit out on trout and then what?
Funny thing, since I started fishing for spinyray, I catch a lot of trout on drop shot rigs. At least it is artificial so they can be released.
Leader lake tomorrow. It has spinyray and trout. Should be interesting.
