This was my best day on the year so far, even after getting a late start. I went back to bed at 5 when I went to load up the kayak and the wind was already blowing hard, figured I'd forget it. Finally decided the heck with it I'd gotten everything ready so I loaded up and got on the lake around 11 probably. The wind was still blowing, so I paddled into the lily pads and anchored down between letting the wind take me down the shoreline. First fish came right away on a Senko, dink. Second was on a hollow body mouse, 3lb2oz, now we're talking! Followed shortly after by another on the mouse at 2lb5oz. Last one was on a Whopper Plopper 2lb11oz. This is the first trip this year where I've caught multiple quality fish, and in a short time also. I blew into the end of the lake a little after 1 and decided I'd had enough fun rather than try to fight it anymore. Makes me wish I had been on the water at 6 and done the entire shoreline, but I'm not complaining.

Devin,
You're making me jealous! I haven't been out for 2 weeks (we had the pre-K grand kids here) and you showed some mighty fine skill with your 'yak...and selection of lures.

Feel free to message me anytime, I'm free to fish mostly every Tue/Wed/Thur with my work schedule. I almost always go once a week. This is my first time targeting largemouth in awhile, been hitting a different spot for smallies lately. But this kind of top-water lily pad fishing is my absolute favorite! This was also my first time using a Whopper Plopper, I was impressed with it.
