Talked the wife and kids into waking up at 4:15am to go chase some kokanee in the upper lake again.
If you are trying to figure out where to go, do not hesitate to make the trip. It will be worth it. Great lodging options from camping at the state park. Comstock motel and Gibsons north fork lodge have rooms with kitchenettes. Liars cove and shady pines are worth a look too but are on the lower lake/reservoir. I prefer the upper lake for fishing. The kokanee are much bigger.
The fishing has been white hot. Early morning so i put some chartreuse hoochies in the rotation with the orange. Both colors worked very well. Again 30ft on the downrigger seemed to work best. I really need to acquire at least one more downrigger.
On to the fish. We dont have much longer with these guys. Starting to be able to see a little change in the shape of the bucks heads. We got the biggest kokanee from this lake all year today. A true 14.5" fish. They have gotten big the last month or so. Smallest fish was over 12". We have been fishing out around the rope swing in 70-90fow.
Mack's DD 4.4 dodgers are as good as gold right now. I need to buy stock. Between the smile blades and dodgers, and now they have shasta tackle so they have my sling blades too. So huge shout out to the guys at Mack's for having what it takes to really target these fish.
Wife kids and we had my father in law in tow for the first time this year. I need to mention that my wife has become a master boat operator/navigator, we have really got this dialed in. I cant tell you how incredible it is to have a life partner that gets into your hobbie this hard core. Seriously i have only been fishing once in The last 4 years with out her! Another 5 star morning, and i got to work by 10 am.
Tight lines!

Dandy kokes you guys! Thanks for the report. We may have to make a trip up there next summer. Sounds like fun and the fall fish look great!

The lake has gone down a few feet. We are really lucky to have such good fishing 20 minutes out our back door. I wish we had the knowledge to go do this on Roosevelt with this much success. Next year we will go for it. Any one coming up for the week end should hit us up. I love seeing people taking advantage of this regions incredible fishing.
