I stopped at Little Eight Mile Lake today on fished it
for about 45 minutes before heading to the main lake.
I caught a pretty 8 inch Brook Trout on my first cast
with a Krocodile Spoon and couldn't buy a fish after
that, except for some of the little 4 inch trout that
nipped at my lures.
I did see a few trout in the deeper area of the small
lake that were 9 to 11 inches, but the majority of the
fish I saw were four to six inchers. I also tried the
area around the inlet stream, but again, I only got
hits from small fish.
The weather was perfect, about 75 degrees and calm
with an occasional light breeze. The lake is about 2
1/2 miles in on the trail to 8 Mile Lake or Lake
Caroline (the trail diverges at the lake). Definitely
worth a few casts before heading on to either
destination.
