Launched at Northrup cyn before 7 - headed south to do the mile, but about half way there Aeolius the wind God
decided to let it all hang out - less than 5 minutes we were in white caps and rollers - being a charter member of
the 180 club in AK we did just that and wound up in the protected cove of what used to be devil's lake. Changed
rigging from bottom bouncers to hooks and maggots and went after whitefish and burbot - really kind of fun when
the whitefish hit - don't like to clean them or eat them so gave them to a couple of Ukrainians fishing close by. Wind
was still pretty pesky anyway, but thanks to the spot lock on the new minn-kota it kept is right on target in 95 FOW,
sometimes in one direction and a few minutes later in the opposite - only tangled a couple of times during one of
the swings. Left before noon - oh well, another time, another day. Lake water was only down about 3-4' from
full, so launch was easy and docks not impacted at all.
