When I pulled my trailer out of the lake I knew it would probably be a short trip :O, I expected weedy but good Lord! I even packed along my push pole just in case and to save a little battery but it wasn't needed as I launched at 5:30 and was off by 8:30 and done cleaning grass off everything at 9am. Trailer looked like Sigmund the Sea Monster!
I motored out from the launch and went right working a topwater frog through and around the pads out in deeper water away from the carpeted milfoil near shore. Zero movement until a pounder swam up and lazily boiled on the frog....point taken. I started throwing a "weedless" (LOL) wacky rigged Senko and it did good coming through he junk and I caught my only fish on it. I let the wind blow me out into deeper water and half way back west towards the reed islands throwing T-rigged worms, flipping jigs and the like into holes in the grass and throwing the Senko and a swim bait here and there, not so much as a nibble. I decided to motor over to the other side of the islands and fish the grass edge as shown in the pic. The wind does a really good job of defining what's carpet and what's not. From the edge I went ahead and motored into the junk and fished the pads around the corner from the launch, not so much as a spook?!
I finally just decided not to burn up all my battery power and pulled the plug on Terrell and headed over to Fazon to try and salvage the day. I may not be back on this lake until next February :(
