Woke the boy up early to be to the lake before 7am. The forecast called for showers but it ended up being dry all morning. We started trolling through an area I had found to have large fish on the finder but couldn't get any of them to bite. After hitting that area for a while we moved on and I hooked a decent sized fish on a dodger and green spinning squid hoochie. As I got it closer to the boat I told my boy we'd need the net but by the time he grabbed it the fish had spit the hook.

We anchored in about 20ft of water and floated power eggs about 6ft off the bottom. It took about 30 minutes to reel one in, a 12 inch keeper. We pulled anchor and kept the egg weight and 6ft leader setup but trolled it super slow with a power egg and worm. This was the ticket. Ended up keeping my limit and the boy kept 2, all 11 to 12 inches.

Sorry, no pictures this time. All said, it was a great day!

The big ones still elude me but I'll keep trying.
