Started a little late at 7am. Planned on fishing structure for bass in the morning and switching to panfishing in the afternoon to fill up the cooler with dinner. Figured I might as well troll a line on my way to my favorite spot and caught a keeper size perch in the first 5 minutes. Good start to the day. First bass came about 7:30, 10 incher, nothing to write home about. Caught 5 more over the next hour, two were good sized, 2lb2oz, and 2lb13oz. Rest were about a pound. Bass bite died at 9, kept trying till 11 then switched to panfish. Picked the wife up at the boat launch (she doesn't enjoy bass fishing as much as panfish) and started trolling to find the bite. The perch were dialed in. Kept about a dozen and released about the same amount that weren't eating size. Kept a couple 10" crappie, and let a few go along with a few bluegill and a pumpkinseed. The afternoon was extremely productive, never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a fish. No real bigguns, but plenty of fish to fry up. tried upsizing tackle, but the perch were extremely aggressive, taking lures that were 2/3 of their body length. Overall a great day on the lake, just wish I had more time on the bucketmouths. Will definitely arrive earlier next time.

Sounds like a fun day on a very calm lake. Little bass are sometimes very aggressive too. I once caught a 4 1/4 inch bass on a 4 3/8 inch Rapala..

great timing for your report, heading there tomorow to meet my already camping folks out there. will probably bring our rv too if there is space available... Will be playing extensively with a new (to us) boat, down imaging fish finder and i pilot trolling motor) Spent the last week setting up the boat and gear... Sounds like there will be plenty of fish to look at/ locate. Any advice on where or how to fish? Bringing gear for most species..

The bass were biting senkos in black and blue, no luck on spinnerbaits, top water or cranks. The pads extend really far from the shore so look for the places where the fallen trees are breaking the pad lines, or stick to fishing along the docks. The panfish were all biting on shallow diving cranks (rapala shad raps, rebel crick hoppers, rebel wee-r) throughout the entire center of the lake. I had my best luck on bright colors like firetiger and hot steel. Best of luck!
