Had one of my best days ever bassin today! I've been having dink fests for the last month or so on the few days I get off from work to fish......not today. Started out at dawn and the fishing was slow with little guys being the only takers. It wasn't till around 10 a.m. that the big ladies started to come out to play. I was coming up on a dock in my small pontoon and a guy in his bass boat came and high holed me....he went straight to the very next dock from the one I was fishing. Well I got the last laugh, after he fished the dock with no luck I came through and caught a 6.7 lbs, and a 3.8 lbs. bass right behind him! The day got better from there. I finished with a 5 bass count that weighed in at 24.6 lbs 6.7 lbs, 5.5 lbs, 4.6 lbs, 4 lbs, 3.8 lbs! All caught on a white Strike King Rage Blade with Caffeine Shad trailer. Lost count of the 1 to 2 lbers. after 15 or so....I've never had so much action in a single day of fishing, and that was my biggest "bag" to date. Biggest fish are in the pics from the day.

Congrats, a GREAT day for sure. Just because a fella has a fancy bass boat, doesn't mean he knows how to fish for Bass. lol

Matt, Great job! Not a bad day at office for you. I hope to hit long in a couple weeks when I return to the states.

Nice pig! Nope, the bass can't see your boat and could care less! I did something similar to a guide up on Whatcom years ago, he plopped in front of me about 50 yards so I followed him as I was already on a good pattern, I would let the fish splash around more than normal and on about the 10th one he fired up his 250 and left the area. Good for you for not getting mouthy or disgruntled and leaving the area and you got the last laugh!
Personal best from my old Tracker 8.4lbs
Personal best from my $600 Jon Boat 8.4lbs
Best to date on my RT188 5.0lbs
If I was content to just fish smaller bodies of water I wouldn't even bother with a big boat but man do I love the storage, comfort and running all over Potholes, Whatcom, Samish, Washington, Banks etc... especially when there's two people! That being said, I will never be without a Jon Boat, grew up in one and absolutely love mine!!!
Nice work!!!

I hate it when people do that jump just ahead of you especially if the lake is empty. Nice fish and one came with salad!!!

From the bank is even more impressive! I remember the bank days, good times for sure.

nicely done sir! i had a similar day late july as well on long. caught a dozen, with 6 over 4lbs! and the largest at 6.27lbs. i also threw the rage blade white/chartreuse, couple on a squarebill gold/black, but the heavy hitters were on a bluegill imitating jig knocking on laydowns and flipping overhangs. let me know if you every want to head out, i go every weekend on my dink 12ft and always looking for the tips and tricks to dissect long lake.
