Took my kayak out to try the evening bite Thursday after work. Trolled all over the area around Tum Tum 20-50 FOW with a worm on the bottom and a perch patterned crankbait at about 10 ft deep. For the first time this year I got quite a bit of action on the crankbait. 3 trout (~16 inches), one crappie (~12 inches), and a handful of dinky smallmouth slammed it hard. Worms were getting nailed by perch and smallmouth pretty regularly. I kept three perch, threw back 3 smaller ones. Put into the water at 5:30PM, out at dark around 9:20. First year fishing in a kayak and absolutely loving it.
