I have been to this lake a total of 3 times and finally got my first bass. This lake is my nemesis. I do not seem to have good luck on stained, shallow lakes. I launched and headed over to the island and started throwing a black/blue chatterbait with a swim-bait trailer. Fished the canal and then headed around the north side. Hooked a 6 lbs LMB at 7:30 AM. Fished around the rest of the island and pads, etc. without another hit all day. Headed out a noon. I threw, frogs, senkos and crankbaits too. If you are going to catch one fish make it a good one.

Go big or go home! Nice fish. I have fished there a few times but never got anything big there. I fished from public launch and work the pads there was doing top water and spinner bait and got maybe a 12". But I don't own a huge boat and just a small trolling motor so didn't venture too far from launch and put in one time at the resort there and worked the pilings. That time was fairly windy and didn't have much luck there. I think I went in early October.

Nice way to beat your nemesis - With a 6 pounder! I have been fortunate enough to fish Silver Lake a few times. My best bass was only 5 pounds even. That fish hit a black spinnerbait on July 23, 1987. I like black spinnerbaits in stained water.

Yup, black is my favorite color spinnerbait. Got a 6lb 14oz biggie on Silver Lake on the black 1/4 oz spinnerbait Oct. 30, '89 over the weeds.
