We found a spot to camp above Antilon Lake. Dropped the kayak in the water at 7pm. I should mention that this is quite a rough launch, best for hand carry. You'd definitely need 4WD if launching from a (small) trailer. We only fished a hour and did get 2 or 3 good trout bites, but none stuck. Only rated the lake a 2 (instead of 1) because panfish are plentiful. Came away with a crappie or two and some sunfish. Tight lines.

I don't have a ton of experience fishing Brown trout, but I can offer a tip or two, having fished Antilon before. In general, I have found that Browns seem to like big noisy lures in bright and "warm" colors, like pink, orange and gold. At Antilon in particular I think that having a brightly colored lure that isn't just metallic is a big benefit too, because the water is murky and can be shadowed by the mountains surrounding it. You need a lure that will stand out on its own, not requiring reflections of light in order to be noticeable.

I have a 1/2 ounce spoon in bright orange that I've had some luck with lately. I had it with me on Antilon, but I don't think I got around to trying it before darkness drove us off the lake. Thanks for the tip. It helps explain some of the "luck".
