We headed back thru Gillette to Thomas about noon. We didn't have much time and just sampled the south shore, so any rating I give this lake won't hold much water. Lol There weren't as many panfish here as in Sherry, but I caught a nice fat 13" rainbow just north of the channel into the lake. We had a nice conversation with a lady on her dock, who said cutthroat are getting uncommon in this chain of lakes. There are, however, lots of decent-sized perch, which she didn't know was edible, so we told her how to fillet them. I gave her a stringer to put them on and we headed back to the ramp on Gillette. We had a fun morning diversion from our long drive to Curlew Lake. Tight Lines.
