Last day off and I wanted to explore this lake more since my last trip. Couldn't visit all my spots as there were other boats so I concentrated on the area in front of the docks and just west of piling point for starters. The area in front of the docks is one of the areas they were busting fry last time I was here. I tied up two different types of topwater minnow, a small spook and a skitter pop. I also had a 4" Senko, Koppers frog, a 4 blade willow leaf spinnerbait and a fluke.

I fished the pads and pilings near the first dock and about 10-15 minutes in I heard splashing out behind me, I dropped the frog and picked up the skitter pop and winged it out to where the splash was. As the rings were dying down a bass blasted it, jumping clean out of the water...that confirms that. I worked the area a little longer picking up one more on the spook.

I motored over to piling point as between there and the public beach is where they were bashing fry like crazy last time! Fishing the frog through the pads in the pilings picked up two more and every time they busted fry I would chunk a bait out to them and 75% of the time it would be fish on! Nothing big but fun nevertheless. I also tried working the area with a shallow crank but that didn't get touched. This was pretty fun actually, trying to run down the feeding fish and trying to get a bait to them asap when they busted was fairly exciting.

Once this died down I motored over to the pads on the south side. I flipped these pads for a bit and worked the edge with a couple different lures but not much to show for it. Finally had a chunk make a run at my spinnerbait but he put the brakes on as my bait was almost back to the boat when he charged it...4lber I would guess.

The water was decently clear and water temps were in the low 70's. Wish I could have hit one other area but one dude was pretty well camped on it and I didn't want to disturb him. I'm looking forward to July settling things down here and I did notice a thermocline starting to develop so that's good. I also saw the eagles new nest!! So happy they are rebuilding here!! So much fun to watch.

Sounds like a fun day nothing like top water action! Good eagle shots.
