Truth be told, I was targeting Kokes, but would have had to give a 1 star report. I wanted to give this lake a great report because it was the best it's ever been for me this year. I landed these 3 fat 12" Rainbows in under 3 hours and that's good enough for me!
Nice morning on the lake, perfect conditions, sunny, calm, and just a few other boats sharing the water. My wedding ring pole was on the downrigger at various depths, and on the other side, a hoochie pole weighted 3/8 oz and trolled 60 pulls behind the boat. Double #6 hooks tipped with shoe peg corn soaked in either Mike's garlic or Mike's shrimp-anise.
The hoochie outperformed the wedding ring, so switched both poles to similar hoochie setup. Caught all fish on the shallow setup, just one drive by all day on the DR. Trolling speed averaged 1.3
These were all good fighting fish and exciting to reel in. It was a very happy Father's Day!
Tight lines!
