Am home today, rather than on the water due to high winds. The fishing has continued to be excellent for Lake Trout. We had a 13 fish day, the last day out with the big fish of the day being an energetic 28" / 7 pound laker just uplake of the narrows.
There have been some significant changes in the regulations governing the lake. The first is the Chinook Salmon season was shortened to the month of May only with a one fish limit. The second is the limit has been removed from the lake trout. The third is the uplake tributary mouths have been closed until August 1st. Basically, the goal is to reintroduce the indigenous cutthroat trout, reduce the abundance of lake trout and increase the abundance of chinook salmon.
In the meantime, lake trout fishing is spectacular for numbers of fish between 2 and 5 pounds. Fishing has stayed consistent all day long. I still have some summer openings, so contact me by email at AntonJ@aol.com or call me at either 509-687-0709 or 509-961-5342 to book your fishing trip. As an additional service we are offering to smoke and vacuum seal your fish for $9.00 per fish. This will give you a convenient and delicious way to preserve additional fish.
