Needed a family getaway and after talking to Bent hook Pontoon, we decided to make the trip over. We got in late Friday night but we're able to sleep in due to the monsoon coming down in the morning. Launched around 0930, but then the wife had to run back to the hotel for sunscreen for our pasty tow headed kids. So I threw out a couple lines with Rapala s and headed towards the damage. Got 2 rods out and one rod buries in the holder, I set the hook and then handed it to my 2 yr old boy who reeled in his first fish, a 16"RBT. He was rather tickled, but since we were there for kokes, I threw him back and went and got the wife from the dock. We made another lap down towards the damage on the house side with 4 plugs running and tripled on kokes, 1 being 15"and the biggest of the trip. After landing all 3 kokes, the last rod went off in the holder just drifting with a 12" Rainbow. We picked up 7 kokes while pulling plugs and a ton of C&R rainbows. Weather got crazy, big rain squalls, thunder, and lightning. Should have limited out but had a hard time getting the kids limits, they kept pulling the hooks out near the boat, which managed to catch on my forearm and hands mostly. Ended Saturday with 13 kokes.
Sunday we struggled to find fish in the morning, then I pulled the hot wings and ran just a sling blade and hooch in, purple and pink, or blue and uv clear. Picked up our 20 silvers (way more but a 2 yr old and 6 yr old make fishing harder than necessary) done by 1300. Met Bent hook Pontoon at the launch pulling out and thanked him for his help. Good weekend, my kids and wife are both kokanee snobs now.

What a haul! Was great to see you and the kiddos up here in our neck of the woods. Glad we could help. One of nature's finest bounty... The Kokanee!
Tips up
