First things first. I am the luckiest man an the planet! Today is my wife's birthday, and she said let's go catch some kokanee! My wife wanted to go fishing with me and our two boys. It is rather convenient that we have Conconully just 15 minutes outside our backdoor.
We got to the boat launch at the upper lake around 10 am. Started out at the rope swing and kicked the buckets over and started putting out lines. First fish in the cooler while I was letting the second pole out! Hand it off to our oldest son to let it out so I can bait back the first pole. Took a good half hour to get all our poles out.
Fishing was hottest between the rope swing and the last house. We stayed about 40 yards off the opposite bank from the road. Still using the same dodger set up with smile blade macks hoochies with a treble hook added as a trailer to the two red bait hooks with white corn and procure anis/krill jell.
We also ran into fellow NWFISHINGREPORTS Member Coyote at the boat launch on our way out. Him and his family took advantage of the great fishing this weekend around the wild weather. Great to see them out with the kiddos. Looking forward to that report too.
All in all an other cooler full of delicious kokanee for the smoker!
