Since it was free fishing weekend I asked my son Adam to go fishing. We took Zoe, William, and Ricky, too. My boat is too small.

It was cool but sunny out. The water temperature was 68 degrees. Adam hadn’t been out fishing for maybe 8-10 years. Back before downriggers or even rod holders… He thought the downriggers were too complicated. We had a few bites and misses so we quit trolling after an hour and went over to the shallows and casted with worms for whatever would bite. Zoe had a bite but Adam schooled them with a Mini Still-fishing spinner catching a little largemouth bass, a rock bass, and then a 12.5 inch trout that swallowed the spinner and went home for my neighbors’ dinner.
We were there from 7:30 to 11:30. Fished 8-10:30am.
