We've been wanting to fish Knuppenburg for a few weeks. Finally got away last weekend, arriving at the lake just before noon. Two men were fishing the east shore when we arrived. Getting our tandem inflatable kayak to the water was more challenge than we were up to so we fished from the shore. From the first cast, I had multiple fish following my lure. Trying spoons, spinners, wet flies and soft baits - most were followed, few were bitten. After a tip from the two fisherman as they were leaving(who did quite well), thank you, I used my shiniest silver hammered spoon to make along cast and brought in a chubby 10" brown trout. I got several more bites casting out to the middle, but they wouldn't take the lure close to shore. It finally got too warm in the sun and we left about 5pm, with just the one little fish for dinner. I rated the lake a 2 because, the fish weren't biting well, but saw some larger 12" trout following my lures, so maybe another day will be better. Tight lines.
