Had not fished for awhile so thought I would try Lake Stevens for some Kokanee action. Arrived about 5:30am and started fishing at 6:00. One rod set at 20' and the other at 40'. Using clown dodger with Pink top God's tooth spoon plus white shoepeg corn on one rod and 50/50 Gold dodger with 50/50 Gold God's tooth plus corn on the other rod. Per my previous reports, this is God's tooth modification #1. Realized I forgot my Herring dipping sauce so thought I would just fish and see what happens. Catch first fish about 20 minutes later at 20'. About another 20 minutes, catch another one at 40'. About 7:00am, lowered the one rod to 30' and caught another one. About 8:00, both rods now at 40' and God blessed with an additional 7 fish to reach my limit of 10 fish and lost 4 additional ones. Done fishing at 10:30am. Weather was sunny with blue sky. Water temp at surface was 70 degrees. Don't know exactly how fast I was trolling but guessing between 1-1.5mph. As the photo shows, the fish ranged from 11"-14" and are fat and healthy.

Met a fellow NWFR member and he mentioned they didn't do well today with the Kokes. He wanted to know what I was using and I told him. Always nice to meet fellow NWFR members. Wishing all tight lines!

Hi JoshH,
I hardly have them figured out but I appreciate the fish biting my presentation :). I think you have got Goodwin dialed in which is awesome in my book!

Dude, you have that lake dialed. I'm not so good out there. I had 1 day early in the season where I limited.

Wow nice job! I've been out there atleast 5 times and I only manage to get 3. Everytime. Need to get that off me. Might have to try and get one of those spoons. Thanks for report.

Excellent nice job. These fish have seen it all and sometimes showing them something different makes all the difference.

Thanks Mike10gs,
I recommend the Pink top and 50/50 Gold God's Tooth spoons as that is what I use.

Great report 'foryou'! I tried those over in Eastern WA but not with this set up- I like it and will give it a try next time out! Thanks again for sharing your success and what you are using to do get the job done!!

I can attest to how well his set up works. While I have not ever had his type of success, after running through different kokanee pro's, assassin blades, and wedding rings, my best success by far came with the gods tooth spoons and his modification to them. It sure didnt look right when i dropped it in the water, but it definitely worked.

I was out on the lake around 6 am fished till 8:30 am ended up with 7 fish, caught all at 40 ft. an 45 ft. I use my homemade spinners and shoe peg corn plain

Hi RL44,
Thanks for sharing the info. I'm glad you also did well out there. Great to know using plain corn works without additional sauce :)

It was a pleasure meeting you on the lake the other day. Thank you for showing me the God's Tooth and the modifications you make for Kokanee. I picked one in pink and one in 50/50 and look forward to trying them out.
