The weather was cool (low 50's)and misty most of the day. It had been warm and is projected to be 100 this weekend.
Fishing was good all day the lake was recently planted. The road in from Carson is free of snow and in excellent
shape up to the pass and then it is lots of pot-holes and a deep rut at the end of there grade down to the lake. You could get stuck in the 2 foot rut in the middle of the road. Be careful in the dark!

We fly fished the whole day. Catch and release and caught at least 40 trout (two of us). Fished with slow sink line and black or green wooly buggers #8-10 or green marabou damsel nymphs. Around 2 PM there were subsurface boils and a switch to callibaetis emerger # 14 was very successful.
The water is back up to full pool and there is no beach.
The fish were browns and rainbows only a couple Eastern brook trout. Watched the eagle chase the osprey until it dropped it's catch. It was a good day.

Never been past the washougal fishing wise from Vancouver. Took my Brother and oldest Son to Goose Lake 7/11/16. Talked to the park ranger as well as a few of the local boaters. They mentioned fishing at a certain area (disclosed) as we were fishing from the bank. The boaters didn't seem to have the best of luck that day however we had a blast reeling in Browns, Cutthroats and Rainbows. 11 1/2 to 16" and 9 in total. Awesome fishing and a thank you from the locals (boaters) who seemed to have gotten smoked by us bank fisherman that day!
