Well after a dismal day at American my son says let do Summit tomorrow, so here were are. Arrived around 9:30 am and started our troll straight across from the launch. We set our gear at 40' and 35' I got a take down right away smaller RB, reset the gear this time a bit deeper looking for kokes, (after talking with a few guys at the launch kokes have been super super slow for them in two weeks they fished boats) so we keep looking and not really seeing anything exciting on the screen we kept moving around the lake. We got a few nice RB on Toni's new lure in green was the hot ticket they loved it. We kept putting out and they kept taking it every time.

Started heading towards the shoreline trying to find the kokes and low and behold at 60' on the wire the pole starts bouncing grab the rod and it for sure a koke head shakes all the way. My second pole start bouncing and I think maybe it wrapped up so I release the line from the clip and keep reeling in my koke into the boat it comes but it's not wrapped so lost the double hey it happens right? lol.

Reset the gear and kept the rods deep this time and it paid off with bigger fish and kokes the target species for this trip. My son got one koke and many many RB's and I came home with 3 kokes one caught on Kekeda tackle pink fly and the other two on Toni's orange and gold special. The Kekeda fly hooked its fair share of RB's as well. We started off using corn and after 5 min fishing quit. To many RB and not big enough limits, it was the only way to keep fishing if not we would of been done in less then 30 mins.

We left at 12:30 and waited for the cluster at the boat ramp to be done and finally got out! So people just need a check list and learn what the prep area is...but a wonderful safe day on the water with my son!!

DJ, thanks the kokes were very think and chunky surprised me because last year they were small and skinny. I will be going back for sure, this lake is a 5 MPH lake until 10 am so that make it nice for the smaller boats to fish. Around 11 am the tubes and skiers came out to play. I don't mind it the more the merrier but they get very very close to the launch area and throw there wake making it very very tough to load your boat that was the only bad thing I saw. But a great place for you and your tube....you should give this lake a try if your up for it. Great drive!!

Toni, I had to go that deep to find the kokes and loose the RB's keeping the lines right on the bottom did the trick for us.
