Throwing this report up because it has been awhile since I've been out to this lake and noticed that the largemouth reports are lacking when it comes to Devereaux.
The boy and I chose to hit the lake and meet up with a co-worker and his daughter. We got there around 5pm and my friend had all ready got the girl on a cookie cutter stocker trout trolling. I ran around to a couple of spots tossing plastics and having the boy throw a rattle trap. After watching trout after trout come out of the water into the 3 boats around us, I decided to switch it up and troll around like the others. I put on a wedding ring for the boy as I stared at the bottom on the electronics. Tons of really big fish right around the 35ft range and a couple of spots had schools of fish I couldn't figure out what they were. My guess would be kokanee. While trolling we missed two nice stockers and boated 0.
After about 45min. of trolling I posted up on a couple of lay downs and tossed some creature baits. The biggest of the night is the 2lb 12oz one in the picture. This lake has some very tough bass. If I would have closed my eyes on the 2lber I would have guessed much larger. Great fighter. The boy was incredible on the net and did very well being patient and his casting has improved a lot. I look forward to the days he begins to haul in the big ones. All fish were caught on Reaction Innovations coonasty colored sweet beaver 4.20, texas rigged in about 8-10ft of water very near wood. The co-worker and his daughter caught 5 trout all about 10in. and another boat had 6.
Great time on the water over all and I just wish we had a little more time. We will be back.
