Went to Clear Lake Sat am to chase some rainbows. We started a bit later than normal due to weather, hitting the water about 8 am. There were about 8 rigs in the parking lot, surface temp was about 62°F, slight breeze. Trolled down the middle at 1.2-1.4 MPH, with a combo of long lines with 1/2 to 5/8 oz and a rigger at about 14 FT (marked a lot of fish at 20-25 feet, but didn't find any biters at that depth). We didn't bring worms, but found pink Berkeley Gulp maggots worked well. Bites came on a wedding ring, a spin-n-glow and a white fly with a smile blade, most with small silver flashers. By 10:30 we had 8 in the boat, missing several others. By 11:30 we had 10. Tried for bass for about another hour with no bites. Decided to head home as the 3rd black cloud of the morning was headed our way. Although hard to measure up to a Roosevelt bow or koke, the fish are in good shape with firm pink meat - some for the pan and some for the smoker.
