I couldn’t get up early Tuesday to go fishing because I was catching up on my sleep from fishing Lake Stevens on Monday. But I got chores done and thought I would try Clear Lake after 4pm.
I asked Randy Ahearn if he wanted to hop aboard and he did.
Now I had lots of trout hookups but only one kokanee. My kicker is on the port side. Randy was on the starboard side. Monday Kim was on the port side, in Brianna’s boat, which was the hot side. Tuesday at Clear Lake I was on port side and it was the side with the most bites. Randy on the starboard only had a few bites. He is a great hand at the net. Thank you for coming Randy.
Why is it that one side of the boat seems to have more action than the other? I can think of many times that this has happened. Even when using same lures and bait.
The one Kokanee caught was 14 inches. I lost a triploid as Randy was getting the net to it. We both saw it. Big guy.
I mainly trolled in the deeper part of the lake down to 35 feet but most of the fish came from 15-29 feet on cable. I stacked rods ten feet apart.
It was partly cloudy with air temperature around 66. There was a little breeze. We fished about 4:30 to 7:30PM. Water temp started out 67 but went down to 66.7 while we were on the lake. Last year at this time the water temp was 62. I took a picture of the mountain for reference because I think it looks more like July than May.
I used Dodgers with Wannafish A Lure proto type lures.
