Took my inflatable Kayak out to Fish lake and hit the water right at sunrise. Tried pulling my #7 Rapala floating minnow in Rainbow color but not a single bite. I've limited out at Cottage lake with that combo every time. But, it is a different and much clearer lake. After a while switched over to a silver #4 dodger and a white and orange dick nite spoon. Still noting for quite some time but then the bite turned on and I got a little 10" and let it go, then I got a little perch and released it also. Finally my pole bent hard and I had a fun time bringing in a really beautiful 15 3/4 in rainbow. I kept it and it's dinner for tonight. I was straight lining out behind the kayak with no weight added and just kept letting out line until the flasher would stay under. Fish were rising everywhere. After a bit the bite turned off again so I switched to a green wedding ring with a smile blade and a bit of a powerbait worm. Got several hits but it turned out the worm was a bit long and they were just slowly working their way up it but before I could get one up to the hook area the wind came up strong and I had to get off the lake. First time going there for me and I launched from The Cove resort. $5 to use the launch. They have porta-potties and a nice fish cleaning station and the staff were really friendly.
