Ran over to Armstrong for a couple hours to play with the dinks. Alternated between a 4" Senko and a floating Rapala and caught a bunch! Biggest maybe 1 1/4 - 1 1/2lbs. Saw a really good one for this lake hanging under the end of a log but she just swam off.

Trout jumping consistently. Always a fun stop on this lake.

Was this trip in your new boat? I fished Armstrong years ago but it was from a canoe. My best bass was 17 inches and only weighed 2 pounds and 8 ounces. That fish hit a black jig with a blue Gator Tail trailer on July 27, 1992. I was also going to suggest that you keep a fishing log on the trips in your new boat. I have been putting one together on my old Bass Tracker. I had it in 96 different lakes and photos of it being launched onto 32 different lakes. I have caught bass from 275 different lakes and sloughs in Washington State.

Bob: are you sure you aren't my long lost grandpa?! LOL We sure have a lot of the same ideas in regards to fishing :) No, this trip was not on my new boat as I haven't taken delivery yet :( A couple of the upgrades were backordered unfortunately. I'm hoping tomorrow but if it doesn't happen then it should be next Monday. I took my Jon Boat out to Armstrong (always keep a spare ha ha). I have a list of the lakes I've fished in this and other States. I used to keep personal logs but now just use the internet as my notebook. Site's like this and others ensure access to my reports. I keep a little more detailed copies for myself but usually a visit to an old report is enough to remind me of the details. My personal best from Armstrong is similar to yours although I did have a moose take a black spinnerbait the second time I ever fished here but I lost it. I would say the one I saw yesterday was pushing 6lbs? They are in there for sure, but I keep Armstrong as one of those little lake I can just go be a kid again :) I still get a kick out of 4-5 12" bass fighting over my Rapala ha ha. Take care Bob, keep sharing your stories :)

Talking about 12 inchers fighting over your Rapala -- I caught two 12 inchers on the same Rapala at the same time. That was on Spectacle Lake in May 1985. I have had other doubles on a Rapala but those were the only 12 inchers. My favorite Rapala over the years was the 11 s.

last year it was a bugger getting my boat in on that Ramp. They fix it at all? Such a pretty little lake

To 8theB8: It finally registered what your name means (ate the Bait) correct? I may be slow out of the gate but not when it comes to fishing Armstrong *lol* We might do some weekday fishing there later in the week.
