I was told last year that fishing Marshall Lake was better early in the season rather than later. I was not disappointed! I got to the lake about 8:30 AM and found only 3 other boaters. What a beautiful setting. Trolled a wedding-ring with worms and got a strike about every 20 minutes. There were also lots of fish feeding at the surface. Limited in about 2 1/2 hours. All between 9 and 10 inches. I trolled at about 30 feet of water which meant that I was about 30 feet from shore since the lake has such a steep drop-off. Weather was calm with blue skies.
