Kim (pinkpole) and I went to Clear Lake after we got off work. We started trolling about 4 or 4:30pm. We quit at 7pm.
It was cloudy with some sun breaks. The forecast was for increasing better weather. It was not supposed to be too windy but it came in gusts. Which made it hard to keep any constant trolling speed. We had bites in mostly shallower water 30-45 feet. The dialed in depth on the down rigger was 17 feet.
It was Kim’s day with her getting 4 kokanee while I got 1 trout. She had picked out a Dick Nite Watermelon dodger with a new Wannafish A Lure lure she named Little Prop with only a Berkeley Pink maggot on it. I even tried after a while to use the same gear but to no avail. She even offered to let me reel one in. I did take the rod but it came off.
With the camera in line I did see that most of my bites were kokanee. Which gives me some comfort.
I was surprised to see that the water was 61 degrees.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Wow! Finally a positive kokanee fishing report that's not way up north or way out east! lol Way to go Toni, hopefully I'll see you there soon.

Toni, if you will retie your lure with a treble for terminal hook, you will virtually eliminate lost fish. Yes, it is legal because it only has one shank and therefore counts as a single hook. The other option some have found effective is 3 singles instead of 2. Treble has worked better for me. Rarely ever loose one, even the big ones we catch in Roosevelt.

Thank you livingston12. I do know it is legal. I was using a treble on my side of the boat. The lure shown is the one that caught the kokanee.
