Decided to swing by Clear on my way home from Grandy and see if it was actually CLEAR?! To my astonishment it was!! Couldn't launch fast enough! Pads are just coming in and that usually means cruising males and a lot of fun! There was still a light cloud in the water in areas but she was good to go. Started with a jig, then a Senko, had one short strike spinnerbait in the pads and I knew what that meant....out came the swim jig and it was game on! 2lbers, the occasional 3lber and two at 4 & 4.2lbs. I didn't even weigh the majority of the fish as it was cast, hook, swing, photo, release, cast... took a few pics along the way but even stopped doing that after a bit (how many 2-3lb bass do you need to photograph in one day?) I held out for anything over 4lbs and got two of those! Missed one giant blow up when I was hung up but everything else including a few dinks made it to the boat. Felt great to be on the old lake and to see her putting out fish still! Caught a couple with what looked like eagle wounds also, one scratched and two with chunks missing!
Saw the catfish sitting in an old tire so I bounced a lizard on his nose and he grabbed it lol. He was plier released cause I don't like the way they feel lol
Met up with one of my Tracker's potential new owners at the launch about an hour before I had to leave and we ran around and caught a few more before he hopped in with his buddies to continue fishing. I left at 6pm.
