In about 6:00 dragging a black hairs ear. no luck. Went zig zag to other end of lake till I see fish rise. Switched to a small gold wicked willy with a red dot. FISH ON, about took my small pole out that back of the boat. I let it swim away. Had some taps after that but no hook ups. When I reeled in to leave I found my hook all goofed up, oh well. Off the lake at 8:00.

Talked to some folks, said they've been well for 2 weeks. Fish eating birds around.

Try using a dodger and stay in the middle of lake.

Good call riverhunter. I was there last weekend and we had good luck with a 50/50 dick nite trolling near the surface, right in the middle of the lake too....

I know the dodger works but I use ultra light sticks and 4 lb line. So as lite as I can.

I thought the 7 lakes were closed until the last weekend in April?

Nope! Shoecraft, goodwin and martha are year round and the lowland lakes opener is not the last weekend of april but the 4th sat of april.
